Who decided?
There seems to be an instruction for everything. What to wear. How to wear it. What’s feminine. What’s appropriate. What’s “too much”.
But an opinion isn’t an instruction. You can hear it, question it, and decide what belongs in your own life.
Try this: the next time you hear “you should”, ask “according to whom?” There doesn’t have to be one right answer. There just has to be room for yours.
